Registration Deadlines

Registration for all divisions should be completed prior to August 25, which is when team formations begin. Players may be waitlisted after this date and will be subject to a $30 late charge if released from the waitlist.

Residency Requirement

Spring Season: Players will be eligible to play with VSLL only if they reside, or the physical location of the school where they attend classes, is within the boundaries provided to and approved by Little League Baseball, Incorporated. Proof of residency or a school waiver form is required. To see if you live or your child attends school within the VSLL boundaries click here.

Fall Season: Any child can play with VSLL in the fall; however, please keep in mind that in the spring you will be required to provide a proof of residency, regardless if you played with VSLL in the past.

FAQs

Am I allowed to request managers/teammates? You may request teammates in Tee Ball and Coach Pitch Softball only, but requests are not guaranteed. In Tee Ball, Minor A, and Coach Pitch Softball, roster creation is at the discretion of the Vice President and includes consultation with managers. All other divisions are created via a draft.

Am I allowed to request practice days? No. Given the size of our league, limited field availability, and number of divisions that form teams via a draft, we are no longer able to factor practice days into team formation.

When are practices and games? All teams will practice two times a week before games. Practices will begin Saturday, September 7. Games will begin Friday, September 27. Once games begin, Tee Ball will play one game and practice once a week; divisions that play in-house will play one game and practice twice a week; and divisions that play other Little Leagues within our District will play two games and practice once a week.

Volunteers

VSLL is an all-volunteer organization. We encourage everyone to get involved with their child's baseball and/or softball team. Whether you manage, coach, umpire, serve as a team parent, help with pre-game field maintenance, your participation goes a long way towards ensuring a successful season for the kids.

  • If you would like to volunteer as a manager, assistant coach, team parent, or umpire, you must pass a Little League background check. Please email Tom Stanley at [email protected] to start the process. (Background checks are good Oct 1 - Sept 30; please check with Tom S. if you are unsure if your background check has expired.)
  • VSLL is always looking for people to umpire games. Please contact the VSLL President if you are interested in umpiring or learning more.
  • CONCESSION OPT-OUT FEE: The volunteer opt-out fee is $150. Concession stand duty is required by ALL player families except Tee Ball, Juniors Baseball, and Seniors Baseball. DO NOT SELECT this option if you are registering for one of the exempt divisions. Reminder: If you do not report for concession duty during the season or if you outright refuse to report for concession duty, a $150 charge will be applied to your account. Additionally, your child will not be allowed to participate in VSLL until these account fees are paid in full.
